100 Books Before Graduation is a free Swanton Public Library reading challenge for students in grades 6 through 12. The goal is simple: read 100 books before you graduate.
You choose the books. You set the pace. Along the way, you will earn prizes for reaching reading milestones and have the chance to celebrate your progress with other readers.

You do not have to read a certain genre or follow a required book list. Pick the books that interest you and make the challenge your own.

You can pick up paper logs (4 total, 25 books each) at the library when you register, or fill out an online form here for every 25 books.

What is 100 Books Before Graduation?
A free reading challenge for students in grades 6 through 12. Read 100 books of your choice before August 1 of your senior year and earn prizes as you reach each milestone.
Who can participate?
Students entering grades 6 through 12 may participate. Students can begin as early as June 1 before entering sixth grade. Homeschooled students may participate beginning at age 12.
How do I sign up?
Register at the library or complete the online registration form.
What books count?
Almost anything! Fiction, nonfiction, audiobooks, graphic novels, manga, web novels, school reading, and books read for summer reading programs can count.
Up to 25 books may be shorter books or picture books. The remaining books should generally be at least 100 pages or 25,000 words. Books must be read after you register. Each title may only be counted once.
What if I do not finish a book?
If you read at least half of it and submit a review explaining why you stopped, it may count.
How do I log my books?
Log books in groups of 25 using a paper log from the library or the online form. Participants also complete one short book review for every 25 books read.
What are the prizes?

25 books: $10 food gift certificate, reading ribbon, and party invitation

50 books: free book, custom 3D print up to $20, and party invitation

75 books: custom 3D print up to $50, candy care package, and party invitation

100 books: $100 Barnes & Noble gift card, party invitation, raffle entry, and optional library recognition
What is the end-of-summer party?
Readers who reach a milestone are invited to an annual celebration with bowling and pizza. Readers who complete all 100 books are also entered into the grand prize drawing.
