Outreach Services
Swanton Public Library offers free outreach services for patrons who are physically unable to visit the library.
Through outreach, SPL can bring library materials directly to eligible patrons, helping them continue to enjoy books, magazines, and other circulating materials from home.
Who Can Use Outreach Services?
Outreach services are available to people who are unable to visit the library in person due to:
-
Age-related limitations
-
Disability
-
Illness
-
Injury
-
Recovery from surgery
-
Temporary physical limitations
-
Other circumstances that make visiting the library difficult
If outreach sounds like something you or someone you know could use, please contact the library.
What Can I request?
Patrons may request any circulating item owned by Swanton Public Library.
You may request:
-
Specific titles
-
Favorite authors
-
Books by genre or topic
-
Magazines
-
Large print books
-
Staff-selected materials based on your interests
Library staff can also help choose materials if you are not sure what to request.
How Delivery Works
Library materials are delivered to your door monthly by library volunteers or staff.
The number of items delivered can be adjusted based on your needs. Most patrons find that four or five items per delivery is a good amount, but the library can work with you to find what fits best.
