Swanton Public Library offers a variety of programs for adults throughout the year, including book discussions, creative classes, writing groups, sewing, fiber arts, chess, wellness programs, and special events.
Adult programs are a great way to learn something new, meet others, enjoy a hobby, or spend time at the library.

Adult Book Discussion
Swanton Public Library offers book discussion opportunities for adults throughout the year. Copies of selected books are often available at the front desk before each meeting.
Gretchen’s Book Club
Gretchen’s Book Club meets to discuss selected books in a welcoming, casual setting. Readers are invited to pick up a copy, read along, and join the conversation.
Book Discussion Club
Join the adult services librarian for a monthly book discussion featuring a selected title. This group is a great way to discover new books and connect with other readers.
Sara’s Book Club
Sara’s Book Club is currently on hiatus.
Seam Rippers Sewing Club
Do you have a sewing project you are working on? Would you like a little company while you sew?
Seam Rippers Sewing Club meets monthly at the library. No registration is required, and walk-ins are encouraged. Bring yourself, your current sewing project, and enjoy time with others who like to sew.

Fiber Arts Fiends
Fiber Arts Fiends is open to knitters, crocheters, weavers, spinners, and other fiber artists.
Participants are invited to meet at the library, learn new skills, work on current projects, and enjoy crafting together. All skill levels are welcome, and this is a free program.

Writers' Club
Writers’ Group is for adults who want to write, share work, receive input, and improve their writing skills.
Led by local freelance author Nathan Jacobs, this group welcomes writers at different stages of the writing process. Attendees may bring finished pieces or works in progress and should be ready to discuss writing, creativity, and ways to grow as writers.
Writers’ Group meets two Thursdays a month at 6:00 PM.

ChessNuts
Chess players of all skill levels are welcome at Swanton Public Library.
This casual group gives players a chance to learn, practice, meet opponents, and enjoy a few games together. Beginners, experienced players, teens, adults, and seniors are welcome to stop in.
Chess Group meets Wednesdays at 5:00 PM.
