September is packed with programs, activities and opportunities to connect at Swanton Public Library. From storytimes and teen clubs to crafts, games, educational programs and community events, there is something happening for nearly every age and interest this month.


Here’s a look at what’s coming up in September.

Pre K, Kids & Teens

There are plenty of opportunities for younger patrons to learn, create and spend time together throughout the month.


Tuesday Tales takes place every Tuesday at 10:45 a.m. for children ages 0 to 5 and their families. September themes include All About Me, Hey Ladybug and Beeline to Sunflowers.


Other youth programs include:

Dot Day Party: September 15 at 4:15 p.m.

Paws to Read: Every Tuesday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Dungeons & Dragons: Every Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.

B.O.L.T.: September 16 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Prism Club for Teens: September 23 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Teen Anime Club: September 30 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Pokémon Club: September 12 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

S.T.E.A.M.: Fridays from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m., with a different activity each week


Homeschooling families can also stop by September 16 and 17 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for homeschooling photos and resources.


Programs for Adults & Seniors September 2026 Calendar

September also brings a full schedule for adults, including longtime favorites and special fall programs.


Regular programs include Chair Yoga on Mondays, Adult Mahjong on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Chessnuts on Wednesdays and the Historical Society on Fridays. Fiber Arts Fiends will meet September 2, 16 and 30.


Special programs this month include:

Writers’ Group: September 3 and 17 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Gretchen’s Book Club: September 10 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Paper Piercers: September 9 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Disney World Travel: September 10 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.

Color Me Calm: September 14 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Cardmaking: September 17 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.

Getting Started With Chickens: September 17 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.

Tai Chi: September 19 from 10:00 a.m. to noon

SPL Board Meeting: September 21 at 6:30 p.m.

Diamond Art: September 24 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Family Bingo: September 24 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.

Book Discussion: September 28 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Seam Rippers: September 30 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.


Some programs require advance registration or include a class fee, so be sure to check the program details before attending.


Join Us at the Downtown Swanton Block Party

The library will also be joining the community for the Downtown Swanton Block Party on Saturday, September 12 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.


Stop by Zeiter Way for games, food trucks, music and an evening of fun in downtown Swanton.
